Preferred Vessels
El-Gemuloth’s preferred fleet is classified by four main types of vessels dependent on carrying capacity. These categories are ULCCs and VLCCs, Suezmax, Aframax, and Panamax and Handysize tankers. Dependent on the route and cargo, the largest possible vessel that can be accommodated is used.
ULCC & VLCC
A Very Large Crude Carrier and an Ultra Large Crude Carrier are used to transport huge quantities of crude oil. These are the largest operating cargo vessel types in the world and can carry in excess of 250,000 dead weight tonnage (DWT) (up to 3 million barrels).
SUEZMAX
A medium sized tanker, the Suezmax, with displacement between 120,000 and 200,000 dead weight tonnage (DWT), approximately 1.1 million barrels, increases access to most of the world´s ports.
AFRAMAX
Aframax are medium/low-sized crude tankers with a dead weight tonnage (DWT) ranging between 80,000 and 120,000 (500,000 to 700,000 barrels) and are generally used for medium to short haul trades.
PANAMAX
Panamax tankers have displacement between 50,000 and 80,000 dead weight tonnage (DWT), and transport crude oil and petroleum products commonly in transatlantic trips. .
The fleet includes: ULCCS and VLCCS,
SUEZMAX, AFRAMAX, and PANAMAX and HANDYSIZE TANKER
